I’ve been a guest more times than I can remember. Perhaps it’s because I’m usually a six pack down before we Skype? But I digress!
We talked about that amazing Infinity War trailer our predictions, breakdown and why Thanos rocked his blinged out gold armor at home but decided to go with a tank top like a cruise ship tourist hunting for infinity stones. All I can say is the money shot of the Wanandan army lead by Black Panther, Captain America’s Dark Avengers against The Children of Thanos & his fighting Uruk-Kai er, Outrider troops, was burned into the back of my skull!
We also broke down the less than amazing Justice League (spoilers) and though I loved many things about JL. – Best use of Superman to date in the new DCEU, (Straight Reeve remincient chills how good Henry Cavil is if he’s allowed to enjoy being Superman!) The Amazonian set piece, Ezra Millers hilarious Flash, Ray Fishers brooding If underused Cyborg. Always game Gal Godot as Wonder Woman. Jason Mamoas Brotastic swaggering Aquaman.
But it had its problems, mostly self inflicted. The jigsaw of two directors visions (three if you include Bat-fleck’s self indulgent reshoots) the lobotomy of a script and the mandate to 120 minute run time to shovel it out the door. The opposite of Batman v. Superman in tone but why decide to make Batman a Superman fan-girl?
I think it was Nic called it. “They shaved all the Batman off!”.
Consensus view is DC you’ve got a multiverse, use it! The Trinity is golden but expand your universe and tell stories worth telling from writers with something to say.
Thanos voiceover speech during the infinity war trailer is it for The Avengers or Warner Bros?
In time you will know what it’s like to lose. To feel so desperately that you’re right, yet to fail all the same. Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives.
I guess I can sum it up this way I want to love DCEU films the way I love Marvel Studios trailers.

“Here’s the thing about The Good Men Project. We are trying to create big, sweeping, societal changes—–overturn stereotypes, eliminate racism, sexism, homophobia, be a positive force for good for things like education reform and the environment. And we’re also giving individuals the tools they need to make individual change—-with their own relationships, with the way they parent, with their ability to be more conscious, more mindful, and more insightful. For some people, that could get overwhelming. But for those of us here at The Good Men Project, it is not overwhelming. It is simply something we do—–every day. We do it with teamwork, with compassion, with an understanding of systems and how they work, and with shared insights from a diversity of viewpoints.” —– Lisa Hickey, Publisher of The Good Men Project and CEO of Good Men Media Inc.
