When I first started writing ‘All Things Geek’ I published articles about surviving the Zombie Apocalypse – “Surviving The End Of The World or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Zombie Apocalypse.” and your chances of survival depending upon the state you live in. – “New Jersey Gets the Horn & the Finger at the Zombie Apocalypse!”
Well, if you can’t beat em, join em’! Perfect your zombie camouflage skills in Asbury Park, New Jersey this October at The Asbury Park Zombie Walk October 5th 4-8pm on the Asbury Park Boardwalk!
This is New Jersey’s largest zombie walk and has been recognized as the largest zombie horde by the Guinness Book of World Records twice!
In 2010, 4,093 zombies went shambling down the boardwalk to take the top spot. In 2013, the horde doubled to 9,592!
This year, Zombies can arrive in costume and full makeup or pay for a Zombie makeover by professional makeup artists at the boardwalk event.
I think my favorite part of Zombie Walk is the range of the costumes. There are people that have these huge groups with a complete theme, others just pull from pop culture, and some just say “I’m gonna drench myself in fake blood”…and it all works!
