EarDrummer Records and Interscope Records recording duo Rae Sremmurd partners with Electronic Arts for an exclusive preview to their official remix of the #1 single “Black Beatles.” Produced by Madsonik and executively produced Mike WiLL Made-It, the hard-hitting remix turns up for EA’s biggest first-person shooter game Battlefield 1.
Battlefield 1 was EA’s best-selling shooter title in 2016, an incredible testament to the excitement of players and the achievement of the talented teams at DICE. Battlefield 1 delivered the innovation, creativity and all-out warfare that players were looking for in a military shooter game, and as a result, it was EA’s biggest Battlefield launch ever. The unique player base of Battlefield 1 is more than 50% larger than that of Battlefield 4 and more than a third of those players are new to the franchise or new to EA. The Battlefield community will continue to grow, and with the first Battlefield 1 Premium content still to come, there will be many amazing experiences ahead for Battlefield 1 players.
With new lyrics set to the dawn of all-out warfare, the fresh new version gives a nod to heroic military soldiers. The exclusive trailer previews the epic multiplayer arms race with high-octane dogfights, obliterating battleships, twisting through the trenches of in your face warfare.
Tupelo-raised rap duo Rae Sremmurd debuted on Mike WiLL Made-It’s late-2013 mixtape Mike Will Been Trill with “We,” a scraping, lashing party track. While their name could have been read as a backward-spelled alias for Mike WiLL’s songwriting and production syndicate EarDrummers, Rae Sremmurd turned out to be two young and exuberant rappers, Swae Lee (Khalif Brown) and Slim Jxmmi (Aaquil Brown).
Signing with Interscope Records in 2014, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi then debuted their rowdy single “No Flex Zone,” which was followed by chart the urban radio chart topping tracks “No Type” and “Throw Sum Mo” (featuring Nicki Minaj and Young Thug) as preludes to the early-2015 album SremmLife. All three singles reached the Top Ten of Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart. The first two received platinum certifications. In 2016, they returned with their sophomore LP SremmLife 2 that featured the mega-hit “Black Beatles” featuring Gucci Mane. Later that year, they earned their first Billboard number one with “Black Beatles,” which went on to top Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for seven total weeks.
Madsonik is transforming into one of the rising stars of today’s EDM scene, continuously slaying massive festival crowds. The LA-based producer/DJ has joined large-scale tours such as a North American tour with Kill the Noise, Boombox Cartel, and Team EZY. This tour culminated with his main stage performance at Hard Summer 2016 where he and Kill The Noise dropped their OWSLA-signed collaboration, “Spitfire Riddim.” Madsonik is also responsible for the 500,000-selling RIAA certified gold single “Shell Shocked,” which features Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Ty Dolla Sign, Moxie, and was co-written and produced with Kill The Noise, appearing first on the soundtrack to the globally successful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. His most recent releases can be found in the film soundtrack of top-grossing worldwide movie xXx: Return of Xander Cage, featuring his collaboration with Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and Kill The Noise “Divebomb,” in addition to his original “Take It to The Top.” His remix of Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” will be the newest addition to his rolodex of accomplishments with many more to follow in 2017.
The “Black Beatles” remix will be available for purchase this Friday February 24 on iTunes.
