These questions are made even more profound by the fact that these robots, called Synths, look exactly like people.

Really intriguing series and I’ll be turning in to watch. Seems like as technology has advanced and we have so much connectivity at our fingertips, we’ve let that tech consume us and run our lives a bit more than I think people intended. Also seems like we’ve lost touch with each other as humans as people are so consumed with technology and what’s happening on their phones and other devices. Really interesting premise for a show.
Really interesting concept. I read an article/review the other day about how the creators seem to toe the comfort line with gender and race stereotypes. I can’t wait to see if they can do it in a way that will make us all stop and think, or if it will be too subtle for most to catch and lost in the background to the excitement of a new series.
I believe you have the dates wrong for the premiere of the program. I’ve already seen the first episode, and I think the second aired last night (21.06.2015). Am I mistaken?
The most interesting and scary insight is the hypothesis that a synth will be motivated to relay facts in a way that favors one person over another. Why? What motivations were programmed into it, or does the environment have the ability to interact with an advanced AI in order to result in motivations not programmed? Both are scary possibilities, but no worse than what a corrupt human judge or other person in a position of power is already able to do. We should be wary of any odd results or behaviors, regardless of source, and — like any good detective… Read more »
Fascinating premise for show. I’m looking forward to it and all the wrestling of emotions any psyche to understand what makes us fully human and that which sets us apart from androids.
The android will of course always do everything right and always have a perfect and appropriate response. What does that mean to us? .. to always have a perfect response? Where does our failings fit into our world? Do we allow for them to happen in grace and loving acceptance?
Did I mention I’m excited to explore this show??
An amazing way to explore – Us.
Does HUMANS level the playing field in relationships?
