A piece of art brings up many questions for Zoey on ‘Body Count’

Last time on Grown-ish, Zoey wanted to take a stab at designing clothes. She thought it a good idea to try to give some of her friends a new look. They hoped this would help them get followers which hopefully would lead to sponsors. Things got out of hand fast, and it took some work to get things back on track. As this episode came to a close it looked like a compromise had been made that was sure to help them out. Luca has some art in an exhibit on campus on ‘Body Count’ and one piece brings up many questions for Zoey. I was able to watch a screener of this episode and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the premise for ‘Body Count’ here:

When Zoey sees that Luca’s exhibit at the CalU Arts Fair dominantly features one of his ex-girlfriends, it sends her into a spiral of wanting to know more about his past. Nomi takes Professor Hewson’s advice and tries to learn more about the queer community on campus.

Zoey is taken aback by one of Luca’s art pieces on ‘Body Count’. She wasn’t expecting it, and it brings up all kinds of questions for her. There are moments where she isn’t sure how to handle it and might have overreacted a bit. Meanwhile, Nomi goes to a Queer art festival and it wasn’t what she expected it to be. Thanks to some good advice from a mentor of hers she isn’t ready to quit on it yet. As this episode comes to a close Luca and Zoey find a way to get through this together.
