Assassin’s Creed is the next video game series being adapted for the big screen and this trailer is full of non stop action

I have never played any of the Assassin’s Creed video games before. I have seen other people play them though and I can say each one looks amazing. It is a very popular game that has spawned countless sequels on the Playstation and Xbox game systems. Well now the game series is being turned into a feature length film. The first Assassin’s Creed trailer has been released online and here is what I think of it.

Here is the plot for the Assassin’s Creed movie:

“Career criminal Callum Lynch (Micheal Fassbender)  is rescued from his own execution by Abstergo Industries, the modern-day incarnation of the Templar Order. He is forced to participate in the Animus Project and relive the memories of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, an Assassin during the Spanish Inquisition. As Lynch continues to experience Aguilar’s memories, he begins to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to confront the Templars—age-old enemies of the Assassins—in the present day.”

I am not sure what to think of this Assasin’s Creed trailer. It is full of a ton of action sequences but the plot is not always easy to follow. I had to watch it a few times to really understand what was going on, and even then the plot is strange to say the least. I am always hesitant when they want to make a movie about a video game series because no matter how hard Hollywood tries nine times out of ten they always find a way to screw it up. This happened with Super Mario Bros, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, Street Fighter and even recently with Ratchet and Clank. The movie has a great cast but I am not sure if it will be good or not yet. By what I have seen though it is not bad, but this doesn’t mean it will be worth seeing this December. Check back for updates on the Assassin’s Creed movie website.
