A film years in the making, but fans wonder will this be a masterpiece or a flop?
Fans of Batman and Superman have always been intrigued by this story. Two heroes who have similar goals and ideals for some reason end up battling each other, and even though Superman has the advantage it doesn’t mean he would win in this fight. There have been at least a few comics and graphic novels on this particular story, but so far no live action film has been made. Many years ago it looked this fans were going to get their wish, but the project fell apart. Now in 2016 it looks this this story will finally be told. This year at Comic Con in San Diego the newest trailer was revealed to the public and the opinions have been mixed. But overall the excitement for the movie has grown but time will tell if it is good or not.
The story begins shortly after Man of Steel. Superman (Henry Cavill) is seen as a dangerous threat by the public, and many want him to answer for his actions. Much of the public see him as a false god and someone who needs to leave the planet. He is not viewed as a hero and yet there are a few who know he is the light in the darkness.
While Superman was busy fighting General Zod in Man Of Steel, a building was destroyed. This structure happened to be Wayne Financial, and Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) lost his family in this tragedy. It is something that has caused Bruce much suffering and may cause him to break his one rule. Bruce wants to end Superman by any means necessary, and thus the battle of the ages begins. Who will win this fight? How far will each side go to be victorious? And what will be the final outcome?
Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) is finally seen for the first time in this new trailer. Lex has always been a unique villain who has found ways to play the system to his advantage. He is always rich, powerful and very intelligent. In the footage seen below, Lex seems to be a small player in the grand scheme but those who are familiar with the character may see more going on here. I think Eisenberg is the perfect choice to play this person and I know he will bring a new perspective that will fit perfectly in this universe.
The movie is one that fans want to be excited for, but there is some annoyance. People think Affleck is a terrible choice for Batman. He is too old and therefore will be unable to bring Bruce the way he should be portrayed. The same is going on with Eisenberg as Lex. He is a good actor but no one believes he will be a good fit for this multi- faceted villain. But I disagree. With all that is shown here it is safe in my opinion to say that this is going to be one of the biggest film to come out next year.
I think this trailer deserves 9/10. There is a lot of different things going on here, but none of them seem strange or out of place. It flows well and jumps from scene to scene in a perfectly fluid way. The music is a wonderful fit and spices up the action and dramatic moments. There is also a view of Wonder Woman which looks amazing and has gotten me and many other fans dying to see this film. Check it out when it gets released March 25, 2016.
