Killing Eve is BBC America’s latest high-profile venture, and it’s based on a series of novels by Luke Jennings. It centers on a down-on-her-luck MI5 officer named Eve Polastri (played by Sandra Oh of Grey’s Anatomy fame), who’s obsessed with catching an elusive assassin named Villanelle (Jodie Comer). Villanelle herself takes a keen interest in Polastri, upping the stakes of each episode. Season One debuted on Apr. 8 and is slated for eight episodes in total. Critics love Killing Eve: It has a 100 percent fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, and as IndieWire writes, the show “is a helluva good time, it’s already more interesting than many of its genre peers, and the first season illustrates a self-awareness essential for its survival.” It earns an 89 percent audience score from Rotten Tomatoes, which is matched by Social’s 89 percent score for the handle “@KillingEve” over the last 14 days. –Alex Shultz
