The Bizarre True Story ‘Gold’ is Coming to Blu-Ray

‘Gold’ A film with a great cast that tells an interesting story

I like Matthew McConaughey, he is a man who has played a lot of different roles. He was great in Sing, and was breath taking in Free State of Jones. His newest movie Gold is coming to Blu-Ray, and it tells an intriguing tale. I was able to get a review copy and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for Gold here:

Matthew McConaughey stars as Kenny Wells, a prospector desperate for a lucky break, who teams up with a similarly eager geologist, and they set off on an amazing journey to find gold in the uncharted jungle of Indonesia. Getting the gold was hard, but keeping it would be even harder, sparking an adventure through the most powerful boardrooms of Wall Street.

Gold is not a bad film, but it isn’t perfect. It tells a good story, but it has some weak moments. Others come off as slow and therefore not too exciting. The films ends on an okay note, but it could have been stronger. There are some good special features here though. The deleted sequence was alright, but I see why it was taken out of the film. The featurettes are pretty good, giving viewers a look into the process of bringing this film to life. It is not Matthew McConaughey’s best film, but some people will enjoy it.
