‘Counterpart’ Season 1 Takes People on a Thrilling Journey

‘Counterpart’ takes viewers on a mind bending adventure

I have been lucky to watch some of the shows Starz has made. They are different, but the stories they tell are pretty fascinating. I knew almost nothing about Counterpart going in except that J.K. Simmons was in it. I have to say it wasn’t what I expected it to be. I was able to get a review copy of season one and this is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for Counterpart season 1 here:

Howard Silk (Simmons) is a lowly cog in the bureaucratic machinery of a Berlin-based United Nations spy agency. When Howard discovers that his organization safeguards the secret of a crossing into a parallel dimension, he is thrust into a shadow world of intrigue, danger, and double cross . . . where the only man he can trust is his near-identical counterpart from this parallel world. The show explores themes of identity, fate, and lost love, posing the eternal question, “what if our lives could have been different?”

Counterpart is a pretty interesting show. This season some kind of conspiracy was happening, and it was fun to try and figure out what was going on. There were plenty of suspects, but as the season moved along the list got smaller. Eventually, you find out who the mastermind is, and it might surprise some viewers. J.K Simmons does an amazing job this season, and does a great job playing these two characters. This season had some slow moments, but they were few and far between. I am not sure if this show is for everyone, but I can see most people enjoying it. If you want to learn more about Counterpart click on this website.
