Veteran metal band’s tenth album set for May 26 release.
How long is 25 years in music terms? Well, when vocalist Kirk Windstein first teamed up with drummer Jimmy Bower, Justin Bieber wasn’t even born yet. Neither was Miley Cyrus, and Lady Gaga was still in diapers because she had to be, not because it was a fashion statement. Metal ruled the world, but it was spandex and teased hair metal, not the heavy, dirty, crunchy variety that the New Orleans band is known for.
Crowbar’s new album, Symmetry in Black, was produced by Kirk Windstein and Duane Simoneaux and was mixed by Josh Wilbur. It’s the band’s first since Sever The Wicked Hand was released in 2011. Windstsein says:
Crowbar is my heart and soul. The music is a part of me that I am extremely proud of. It’s an amazing feeling to be putting all of my energy & focus into something that I created 25 years ago! We are extremely excited to release our 10th full length & to bring the riffs to as many people as possible on tour. See you on the road!
And speaking of the road, you can keep up with the band and find tour dates by liking their Facebook page.
GMP giving love to Crowbar; as if I didn’t already love this blog enough. 🙂 Seriously, seriously underrated and influential band!
