I learned new things about the ‘Jungle Cruise’ movie at D23 Expo

Disney doing movies based off a theme park ride is nothing new. Most of the Pirates of the Caribbean films were good and did quite well in theaters. Meanwhile The Haunted Mansion was not that good of a movie at all. So when I heard about a Jungle Cruise movie I thought this was a bad idea. Yet at D23 Expo I was able to see some footage from it and here is how it changed my mind about this movie a bit.

You can read the plot for Jungle Cruise here:

Set during the early 20th century, a riverboat captain named Frank takes a scientist and her brother on a mission into a jungle to find the Tree of Life which is believed to possess healing powers. All the while, the trio must fight against dangerous wild animals and a competing German expedition.

My views on the Jungle Cruise movie certainly shifted at D23 Expo. Audiences got to see a trailer and I have to say it looks pretty good. It began with some throwbacks to the ride which was a good way to start it. Once it got into the main story that was when it really got interesting. The special effects look great and I am excited to see this movie when it comes out. It is hard to say if it will be for everyone but I think it will have something for most people to enjoy.
