A father tries to pull off a wonderful Christmas in ‘Holiday Rush’
This time of year there are a lot of holiday movies that come out. A number of different TV channels and streaming services are always trying to release the next big holiday film. Sometimes they succeed, and others times not so much. When I saw the trailer for Holiday Rush I was hoping I would get to watch it. I was able to get a screener for this movie and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Holiday Rush here:
Popular New York radio DJ Rush Williams (Romany Malco) has been spoiling his four children since they lost their mom (La La Anthony). Unfortunately, the kids share their pricey Christmas lists right when he loses his job. To keep Rush on the air, his producer Roxy Richardson (Sonequa Martin-Green) and his Aunt Jo (Darlene Love) plan to help him buy another station — if the Williams family can downsize fast and embrace a simpler life. In this heartwarming film, a loving father reconnects with his children and opens his heart to love when they all learn that true joy comes from not what you have but who you have around you.
I had a great time watching Holiday Rush. Just as the holidays were around the corner, something happened that shook this family hard. Yet thanks to those around him, this father refused to give up. Although some tough times might be ahead for this family, he knew they could get through it as long as they stuck together. They hit a few bumps along the way, but thankfully as this film came to a close a few miracles came their way. I think most people will really like this holiday movie.
Holiday Rush is available now on Netflix.
