Greenleaf is all about a family who are far from perfect
Religion is a big part of many peoples lives. What is becoming more common lately is mega churches. I have been to a few of them and they are pretty amazing. Yet there are few shows like Greenleaf out there that show a different side to modern religion. I was able to get a review copy of season 1 and here is what I thought of it.
Here is the plot for Greenleaf:
This show centers on the journey of estranged daughter and disillusioned preacher Grace (Merle Dandridge), who has returned home after 20 years on the occasion of the mysterious death of her sister, Faith. As she reenters the world of Calvary Fellowship World Ministries, the Memphis mega-church run by her powerful parents James (Keith David) and Lady Mae (Lynn Whitfield), it becomes evident that things are not as virtuous as they seem…and that the family’s outward display of faith hides sin and misdeeds.
Greenleaf is a really good show. It has a wonderful cast that give their all to their characters and they help make this a show worth watching. There is also a lot of good music and a theme song that does a splendid job setting the tone for each episode. If you want to learn more about Greenleaf check this website out.
Greenleaf gets 8/10. It is a show about family, redemption and justice. There is a lot of religious overtones here but the messages they hold will be relate able to all kinds of people. Whether you are a big fan of religion or not this is a show you need to watch.
