You may have some strong laughs watching ‘Stage Fright’
I always enjoy watching stand up comedy. When the jokes are delivered right I find myself laughing until it hurts. Yet I have watched some stand up specials that just weren’t that funny. When I heard about Jenny Slate: Stage Fright I thought it might be good. I was able to get a screener for this stand up special and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Jenny Slate Stage Fright here:
Stage Fright gives the audience an inside look at this comedian’s world. Interspersed within her hilarious stand-up set, Jenny shares personal clips of her childhood and interviews with her family in an intimate look at her life. Jenny tells stories about her visit to a midnight Catholic Mass and the ghosts that haunted her childhood home.
This wasn’t what I expected it to be, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I expected it to be a stand up special that would poke fun at current events. Instead it was more of an intimate look into this persons life. Along the way a few good jokes were told that made me laugh. Some people might enjoy this stand up special, but it won’t be for everyone.
Jenny Slate: Stage Fright is available now on Netflix. You can follow this comedian on Twitter and Instagram.
