Go on a journey to the past in ‘Justice Society World War 2’
I have been lucky to watch most of the DC animated films. Most of these movies bring famous graphic novels to life and they end up being quite good. When I heard about Justice Society World War 2 I hoped I would get to watch it. I was able to get a review copy of this animated film and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Justice Society World War 2 here:
Barry Allen – prior to the formation of the Justice League – discovers he can run even faster than he imagined, and that milestone results in his first encounter with the Speed Force. The Flash is promptly launched into the midst of a raging battle – primarily between Nazis and a team of Golden Age DC Super Heroes known as The Justice Society of America.
Led by Wonder Woman, the group includes Hourman, Black Canary, Hawkman, Steve Trevor and the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick. The Flash quickly volunteers to assist his fellow heroes in tipping the scales of war in their favor, while the team tries to figure out how to send him home. But it won’t be easy as complications and emotions run deep in this time-skipping World War II thriller.
This was another well done DC animated movie. The minute Flash tries to save an ally from a strange bullet, this story takes a surprise right turn. Barry finds himself thrown into the past during World War 2, and runs into some heroes trying to bring an end to the war. Some he recognizes, while others he has never heard of before. Barry wants to help this team out, but that might be too risky. Yet when when things get desperate, this team ask a possible ally for help. After that plans goes south, things get worse on the surface quickly. It will take everyone on this team working together to stop this grave threat. As this story comes to a close, Barry learns a good lesson and his life will never be the same.
Justice Society: World War 2 is available now on 4K Ultra HD combo pack, Blu-Ray and Digital.
