‘Gold’ tells an amazing story of two men who found something amazing
I really like Matthew McConaughey. He has made a lot of really good films lately. He was wonderful in Sing, and his performance was top notch in Free State of Jones. His new film Gold comes out in a few days, and it tells an amazing story. I was able to see it early and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Gold here:
Kenny Wells (Matthew McConaughey), a prospector desperate for a lucky break, teams up with a similarly eager geologist (Edgar Ramirez) and sets off on an amazing journey to find gold in the uncharted jungle of Indonesia. Getting it was hard but keeping it is even more difficult, sparking an adventure through the most powerful boardrooms of Wall Street.
Gold is an alright movie, but it is not great. The pace changes often, with some moments flying by fast while others tended to drag on longer than they should. Yet what really bothered me was towards the end this film gets quite predictable. This movie wants to surprise it audience near the finale but I saw almost all of them coming a mile away. There were still one or two I didn’t see coming though. Overall an okay film, but not his best work. If you want to learn more about Gold click on this website.
Gold gets 6/10. It was by no means an awful movie, but it could have been better. Maybe the story wasn’t strong enough, or perhaps key elements were left out of this film. For whatever reason it just isn’t that great, which is kind of disappointing. With such a strong cast, this movie should have been so much better. Some people will like it, but it is not a film you need to run out and see this weekend.
Gold comes out this Friday. You can follow this film on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
