‘Burnt Food’ A dramatic beginning for this new show
There are a lot of new shows coming to ABC this season. Yet none of them are like The Good Doctor. The show follows a man who has limitations and how he refuses to let them stop him from being a surgeon. I was able to watch a screener of the episode ‘Burnt Food’ and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the premise for ‘Burnt Food’ here:
Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, relocates from a quiet country life to join the prestigious St. Bonaventure hospital’s surgical unit. Alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, his only advocate, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff), challenges the skepticism and prejudices of the hospital’s board and staff when he brings him in to join the team. Shaun will need to work harder than he ever has before, as he navigates his new environment and relationships to prove to his colleagues that his extraordinary medical gifts will save lives.
‘Burnt Food’ is a really good first episode for The Good Doctor. Viewers get to learn a lot about the main character, and much about his past. Right away people get to see how he is special when he saves the life of a boy. Although plenty of people think he isn’t capable to be a surgeon, he refuses to give up. It was a touching start for this show, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next. If you want to learn more about The Good Doctor click on this website.
