‘Love and Monsters’ is available now on Blu-Ray
Netflix has a lot of original content these days. They have lots of hit TV shows, some great animated shows, stunning documentaries and well done films. I have watched many of them, and a few of them have been quite good. When I heard about Love and Monsters I wasn’t sure if it would be good or not. I was able to get a review copy of this movie and here is my thoughts on it.
You can read the plot for Love and Monsters here:
Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel Dawson (Dylan O’Brien), along with the rest of humanity, has been living underground ever since giant creatures took control of the land. After reconnecting over radio with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick), who is now 80 miles away at a coastal colony, Joel begins to fall for her again. As Joel realizes that there’s nothing left for him underground, he decides to venture out to Aimee, despite all the dangerous monsters that stand in his way.
This film ended up surprising me in many ways. For starters, I ended up enjoying more than I thought I would. The film has a strong start and rarely loses much of that momentum. Once Joel decides to go on a dangerous journey, that was when the film really gets exciting. They face a ton of monsters, but luckily don’t have to face them alone. As this tale comes to a close, it looks like humanity gets hope from an unlikely source.
Love and Monsters is available now on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray and Digital.
