Hacksaw Ridge focuses on a soldier who refused to give up on his beliefs
I was not sure what to think when I heard of Hacksaw Ridge. I knew that it had a cast full of a few familiar names, but I had no idea what it was about. When I watched the trailer I was intrigued, but unsure if the film would be good or not. I was able to see it last week and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Hacksaw Ridge here:
The true story of Pfc. Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield), who won the Congressional Medal of Honor despite refusing to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds. Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance but went on to earn respect and adoration for his bravery, selflessness and compassion after he risked his life, without firing a shot, to save 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa.
I was pleasantly surprised by Hacksaw Ridge. It has a great cast, wonderful special effects and plenty of hear pumping action. The story is astounding and it was great to learn more about it. If you want to learn more about Hacksaw Ridge head over to this website.
Hacksaw Ridge gets 8/10. The film is full of drama, suspense, thrills and plenty of death. This is one of the best roles I have seen Andrew Garfield play in a long time. The whole cast together though are what makes this a film worth seeing. It does get intense sometimes but that is to be expected. Overall it is an amazing story that people need to hear.
Hacksaw Ridge comes out this Friday. You can follow this movie on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
