Get Ready for adventure in ‘Epic Tales of Captain Underpants’
I have never read any of the Captain Underpants books. I did enjoy the Captain Underpants movie that came out last year though. So when I heard they were making a Captain Underpants cartoon, I was hoping I would get to check it out. I was able to watch screeners of season 1 of The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants season 1 here:
George Beard and Harold Hutchins are two best buds who share a love of comic books and practical jokes – and a strong dislike for their cranky, fun-hating school principal, Mr. Krupp. When their over-the-top pranks get out of hand, the boys unleash their creative superpowers by transforming Krupp into the bumbling, briefs-baring superhero, Captain Underpants! The future of Jerome Horwitz Elementary is always in jeopardy, and it’s up to two prank-loving fourth graders and one goofy caped crusader to save it. What could possibly go wrong?
I really enjoyed The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants season 1. Sean Astin was a great choice for the narrator, and has a lot of fun voicing this role. It was clever how they made each bad guy dangerous but silly at the same time. You never knew how an episode was going to end, and some endings were a real surprise. This season had some great guest stars who brought something special to the episodes they were in. It has the same humor as the film, which was a wise choice and I can see most kids liking this show a lot.
The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants premieres this Friday on Netflix. You can follow this show on Facebook.
