‘It Comes at Night’ A letdown of a horror film for many reasons
I get to see my share of horror films each year. Some of them are quite good, but some are just awful. I knew little going into It Comes at Night. It sounded like an intriguing concept that could make for a good horror movie. I was able to get a review copy and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for It Comes at Night here:
17-year-old Travis, secure within a desolate home with his protective and heavily armed parents (Joel Edgerton and Carmen Ejogo), watches his world abruptly change with the arrival of a desperate couple (Christopher Abbott and Riley Keough) and their young child. Panic and mistrust grow as the dangers of the outside world creep ever closer… but they may be nothing compared to the dangers within.
I really didn’t like It Comes at Night. For starters the plot moves along quite slowly. It made it not always easy to keep my focus on what was happening. This film also didn’t scare me at all. The plot doesn’t always make sense, and the ending was pretty weak too. Some people may like it, but I wouldn’t recommend it. To learn more about It Comes at Night click on this website.
