Get taken on a new magical adventure in ‘Disenchanted’
Enchanted was a pretty amazing film. We saw the worlds of animation and live action come together to tell a pretty wonderful story. There was great songs and plenty of good comedic moments. At the the same time some good lessons get learned and the lives of these characters were changed forever. When I saw the first trailer for Disenchanted I hoped I might get a chance to watch it. I was able to get a screener for this movie and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Disenchanted here:
It has been more than ten years since Giselle (Adams) and Robert (Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe (Rudolph), who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever.
Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.
Disenchanted gets 6/10. The film starts strong as we see this family move into their new home in the suburbs. When Giselle decides to do something drastic the story moves in a weird direction but overall still works. Once we see Giselle start to change in personality was where the story started to drag here and there. The ending was not bad but not as strong as it could have been. Some people will like this sequel but it won’t be for everyone.
Disenchanted is available now on Disney Plus. You can follow this movie on Facebook and Instagram.
