A film that breaks the mold of the familiar spy films of the last 50 years.

This is a great new movie that is coming next week, and one men must not miss. It has action, drama, comedy, suspense, amazing explosions and a plot that is never slow or dull. The characters are original and the heroes are people viewers will root for until the final moments. There are also some surprises that happen along the way which only make this a better film and one that is definitely worth checking out.
Eggsy is a teen who has had a rough life. He never really knew his father, and his mom has a boyfriend who is violent and abusive to him and his mom. He is a school dropout, he has no job and little idea what he wants to do with his life. He is smart and yet he hasn’t had much luck reaching his full potential.
A chance comes up one day to change this after he steals a car, totals it and gets picked up by the local authorities. He is released without charges, and a peculiar man named Harry Hart is there to greet him. Harry says he is the one who got him out, and that he knew Eggsy’s father. He used to work with him, and his dad even saved his life once.
They decide to go to a pub to talk, and some boys want to start a fight with Eggsy. Harry tells them “Boys, I’ve have had a rather emotional day. So whatever your beef with Eggsy is, and I’m sure it’s well founded, I’d appreciate it if you could just leave us in peace” . One of these boys threatens Harry and he recites the best lines in the film to them ” Manners Maketh Man. Do you know what that means? Then let me teach you a lesson.” Harry expertly knocks this lad out with a glass and says to the rest of them ” Are we going to stand around all day, or are we going to fight?” A fight ensues, where Harry uses some cool gadgets to bring each man down for the count while never losing his composure or cool. It is a well shot scene and one of the best fight sequences I have seen in years.
After this, Eggsy gets a rare opportunity to go through the toughest job interview of his life. There will be a series of tests that will test his limits in ways they have never been pushed before. There are a lot of cool scenes where viewers get to meet some more of the cast and watch Eggsy grow and evolve into the type of man he is meant to be. There are also some great life lessons here, like no task is impossible as long as you have people to trek it with you. Friends and trusted allies are important in this life in more ways than one.
Colin Firth is great in this movie. He is a man whose past in shrouded in mystery, and yet he cares about Eggsy. He is like the father that he never had, and someone who really wants to help him reach his full potential. He is the perfect type of father figure, someone who can see where he is meant to go, but he refuses to walk the path for him. He is also a strong man, physically and mentally. He has an amazing way with words, and uses them to his advantage. This is one of the best roles I have seen him do in years, and one that you must not miss.

The film has a good time poking fun at the spy genre in a number of ways. The spies are not dressed in the same suits as 007, and they have good covers that make it hard for the public to know they even exist. The Kingsman make sure to work in discretion, and that the problems they solve are kept away from the eyes of the populace. There are gadgets, but even these are different in many ways. There are glasses that have a video camera in them, bullet proof suits and an umbrella that has all kinds of awesome uses.
The villain, Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) has a great cover. By all outside appearances he is a great giving man, and even releases a feature film. No villain in this genre has done this before, nor have they talked the way he does. He is a weak man, has a non threatening demeanor, and talks with a lisp. But what is odder is how he is able to turn so many people to his cause. The plan he has for the world doesn’t sound diabolical, and only through careful inspection is this made apparent to the audience.
I really liked this movie. I had a blast watching it from beginning to end, and there was not one moment I wasn’t excited to see what was going to happen next. The cast work real well together, especially Colin Firth and Taron Egerton. They are a fun duo and bring a lot of laughs to the scenes they share. The action scenes are amazing, and there are violent moments that are not meant to be viewed by the squeamish. The soundtrack is also good, with songs and scores that bring so many scenes to life. The scene when people get to see the headquarters for the first time is made better by the score that follows it, it helps not only bring the building to life, but gives a good amount of awe and intrigue to what is inside it.
If you are looking for a good action film to see with your guy friends, this is the film for you. If you want to see a film with some good violence, look no further. This is a great film for adults to see, but not a movie to take on a date and definitely is not made for kids. Go out and see this film when it comes out Friday February 13, it is worth the price of a ticket.
