‘Legend of the Sword’ Tries too hard to tell a larger than life story
The story of King Arthur, Excalibur and the knights of the round table has been told many times. I first saw it as a kid watching The Sword in the Stone. Years later it popped up again when I saw Quest for Camelot. Now a new version is coming out called King Arthur Legend of the Sword. I was able to see it early and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for King Arthur Legend of the Sword here:
After the murder of his father, young Arthur’s power-hungry uncle Vortigern seizes control of the crown. Robbed of his birthright, he grows up the hard way in the back alleys of the city, not knowing who he truly is. When fate leads him to pull the Excalibur sword from stone, Arthur embraces his true destiny to become a legendary fighter and leader.
King Arthur Legend of the Sword is sadly not that great of a movie. It does have a good cast and amazing special effects. There is a lot of magic going on in this version and the special effects bring visually stunning locales to life in a breath taking way. Where this film fails the most though is in the story itself. With all that is going on, the plot comes off as kind of weak. If you want to learn more about King Arthur Legend of the Sword click on this website.
King Arthur Legend of the Sword gets 4/10. There is too much wrong with this reboot for it to be that good. The cast does the best they can with what they are given, but even they couldn’t make this a good movie. It is so over the top and full of special effects that at some point the story suffers. Some people may like this reboot, but it isn’t a film I would recommend.
