‘The House With a Clock in its Walls’ is coming to Blu-ray
I remember watching the trailers for House With a Clock in its Walls and being unsure how I felt about the film. It had a stellar cast, but I wasn’t sure if it would be a movie I would like. I gave it a shot, and thought it was rather good. So when I heard it was coming out on Blu-Ray I hoped to get a chance to watch it again. I was able to get a review copy and here is what I thought of this film.
You can read the plot for House With a Clock in its Walls here:
Lewis Barnavelt (Vaccaro) goes to live with his Uncle Jonathan (Black) in a creaky and creepy mansion with an eerie tick-tocking heart. But when Lewis soon finds out he’s in the presence of magic practiced by his uncle and neighbor Mrs. Zimmerman (Blanchett), his new town’s dreary aura boosts to life in an exciting and dangerous way.
It was fun getting to watch House With a Clock in its Walls again. This film has that clever mix of comedy and drama, and also had some truly terrifying moments. ‘Warlocks and Witches’ did a wonderful job explaining the process of finding the cast for the main roles, and had the rest of the cast and crew saying how much fun it was working with them. It also told a bit about the challenges of playing some of these roles, and the ways it pushed them as an actor. There is some good deleted scenes, an alternate opening and ending and a really funny gag reel. If you want to learn more about House With a Clock in its Walls click on this website.
