Miss Sloane shows the dark, gritty side of being a lobbyist
I have heard lobbying can be a tough business. It comes with long hours, stress and little rest. There have been a few films about this job, but none like Miss Sloane. I was able to see this film this week and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Miss Sloane here:
MISS SLOANE is the story a ruthless lobbyist (Jessica Chastain) who is notorious for her unparalleled talent and her desire to win at all costs, even when it puts her own career at risk. The thriller pulls back the curtain on how Capitol Hill games are played and won as Sloane faces off against the most influential powers in D.C.
I enjoyed watching Miss Sloane. It was a good thrill ride that never lost my interest. This film did a good job telling an interesting story about lobbying. Jessica Chastain does a wonderful job as Elizabeth Sloane in a role that is constantly changing as the plot moves forward. Yet with all its twists and turns I could see how it won’t be for everyone. Miss Sloane gets 6/10. It was a good film but it does have some faults. Much of the cast are there for nothing more than to enjoy the ride. They don’t have a big part to play in this narrative, although a few of them will surprise you. This film is also pretty political and take a side on an issue that not everyone will agree with. Overall it is not a bad film but it is not great either.
