The new Fantastic Beasts trailer premiered last night and takes fans into the once magical world in NYC

The Harry Potter books are my favorite book series. I read all of them and they actually are what got me interested in reading again. I have watched all of the films and most of them did a pretty good job of bringing the world from the books to life on the big screen. When I heard a sort of prequel was being made I had my doubts and fears. I knew of the character of Newt Scamander a bit from the books but was unsure how they could make a whole film just about him and his exploits. Once the first teaser was released my doubts were lessened a bit, check out my thoughts on it here. Last night the second teaser for Fantastic Beasts was debuted at the MTV movie awards and truly delves people into this magical world of the past. The film takes places decades before the time of Harry Potter in 1926 in New York City when things were very different.

Here is the synopsis for Fantastic Beasts:

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures.  Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.’

I really like what is shown in this new teaser. It does a splendid job of taking viewers to a time that may be long before the books but it is still full of secrets, magic and all kinds of wonders. Overall it is a wonderful second look into this film and made me excited to see it when it comes out this fall.

Fantastic Beasts is coming to our world November 18,2016.
