These New Recruits Have a Rough Start in ‘The Rookie’ Pilot

Watch them learn and grow in ‘The Rookie’ pilot

I enjoy most things Nathan Fillion has been in. He was amazing in Firefly, and I thought he was an excellent addition to A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2. When I heard about him being in The Rookie, I was hoping I would get to check it out. I was able to get a screener of the pilot episode and this is what I thought of it.

You can read the premise for The Rookie pilot here:

Starting over isn’t easy, especially for small-town guy John Nolan who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of being a police officer. As the force’s oldest rookie, he’s met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis. When you throw in a workplace romance, a hostage situation and some tough love from their new training officers, the latest Los Angeles police rookie class has an uphill battle ahead of them.

I have many good things to say about The Rookie pilot. It had action, suspense, drama and was a strong start for this show. We get to see the good sides of these new recruits, and their faults as well. John gets it the worst, mostly because no one thinks he should be there let alone that he will last long. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next. If you want to know more about The Rookie click on this website.
