The Republic faces a dire threat in ‘Light of the Jedi’
I had a great time reading Test of Courage and Into the Dark. Both books introduced new characters and opened the door to an exciting era in the Star Wars saga. Although peace reigned in the galaxy, it didn’t mean it was free from any dark forces. In Light of the Jedi we get to see just how deadly this force can be. I was able to get a review copy of this book and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Light of the Jedi here:
When a shocking catastrophe in hyperspace tears a ship to pieces, the flurry of shrapnel emerging from the disaster threatens an entire system. No sooner does the call for help go out than the Jedi race to the scene. The scope of the emergence, however, is enough to push even Jedi to their limit. As the sky breaks open and destruction rains down upon the peaceful alliance they helped to build, the Jedi must trust in the Force to see them through a day in which a single mistake could cost billions of lives.
Even as the Jedi battle valiantly against calamity, something truly deadly grows beyond the boundary of the Republic. The hyperspace disaster is far more sinister than the Jedi could ever suspect. A threat hides in the darkness, far from the light of the age, and harbors a secret that could strike fear into even a Jedi’s heart.
I had a hard time putting this book down. We get to see a powerful criminal organization come into the light, and find out just how dangerous they can be. One act causes destruction on many worlds, and the Jedi push themselves to their limits to try and save innocent lives. As this story comes to a close, it looks the galaxy could be in big trouble. Fans of Star Wars will want to check this book out.
Star Wars: The High Republic Light of the Jedi is available now. You can order this book on Amazon, at Barnes and Noble and Penguin Random House.
