Rogue One stands on its own yet it tells an amazing story
I am a huge Star Wars fan. When they released the special editions of the original trilogy, I saw all of them in theaters. This is a series that is going in some amazing directions and usually I never have any doubt where it is heading. Yet I did have some fear and doubt when I heard they were making Rogue One. Never before had a film like this been made, and there was a ton that could go wrong. Watching the trailers gave me some hope, but I still had my doubts if it would be good or not. When I heard what Kevin Smith thought of this film though , I knew I had to see it. I was lucky to get to see this film earlier this week. Here is what I thought of this new Star Wars movie.
You can read the plot for Rogue One here:
In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in so doing, become a part of something greater.
I really liked Rogue One. The story is full of action, drama, suspense and mixes in some clever comedy. One of my favorite characters was K-2SO, voiced by Alan Tudyk. He always had a clever quip to say and yet he is more than just this films Jar Jar Binks. As the story moves along he grows into something much more. One of the best new characters to this franchise in years. If you want to learn more about Rogue One head over to this website.
Rogue One gets 9/10. Although this is not my favorite Star Wars movie, it is a well made stand alone film. Rogue One takes audiences to a bunch of new planets that have not been see before, many full of all kinds of dangers. People will also see new sides to some villains and find out shocking things about this deadly space station. This is a film hard core fans will love and others will want to see. It is film full of surprises, many fans won’t see coming.
