‘Rough Night’ An Alright Comedy with a Few Funny Moments

‘Rough Night’ An okay comedy with some heart at its core

I see a lot of comedies every year, and most of them are not that good. Lately these films try way too hard to get laughs, and I rarely find them to be funny. When I saw the trailers for Rough Night, I feared it would be pretty bad. It actually surprised me in a few ways. I was able to see this movie early, and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for Rough Night here:

Five best friends (Scarlett Johansson, Jillian Bell, Zoë Kravitz, Ilana Glazer, Kate McKinnon) from college reunite 10 years later for a wild bachelorette weekend in Miami. Their hard partying takes a hilariously dark turn when they accidentally kill a male stripper. Amid the craziness of trying to cover it up, they’re ultimately brought closer together when it matters most.

Rough Night is not a bad comedy, but it has its flaws. It takes a while for the film to really get going. Once it does, things get pretty crazy for a chunk of this movie. As it progresses though, it shows some genuine heart that made this an enjoyable comedy for me. Kate Mc Kinnon was pretty good in her role, and it was nice to see Scarlett Johansson try out something different. If you want to learn more about Rough Night click on this website.

Rough Night gets 6/10. I had fun watching this comedy, but I have seen better. Yet for a comedy it was not as bad as I feared it would be. It has a good soundtrack and a great cast. This is not a film for everybody, but some people will really like it.
