Go on a new adventure with Santa in ‘The Christmas Chronicles’
I have seen some wild Holiday films in recent years. Some of them have turned out to be quite good, while others have just been awful. There are a lot of movies out there that deal with Santa, but none of them can compare to The Christmas Chronicles. It portrays this jolly man in a whole new way. I was able to watch a screener of this movie and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for The Christmas Chronicles here:
A holiday adventure that tells the story of sister and brother, Kate (Darby Camp) and Teddy Pierce (Judah Lewis), whose Christmas Eve plan to catch Santa Claus (Kurt Russell) on camera turns into an unexpected journey that most kids could only dream about. After staking out Santa’s arrival, they sneak into his sleigh, cause it to crash and nearly derail Christmas. As their wild night unfolds, Kate and Teddy work together with Santa – as you’ve never seen him before – and his loyal Elves to save Christmas before it’s too late.
I was pleasantly surprised by The Christmas Chronicles. I had my doubts about Kurt Russell playing Santa, but he really pulled it off. It was clear he had a blast putting his own spin on this character. There was a musical number that was a bit silly and hurt the film a tad, but the rest was a joyous ride from start to finish. This movie has a strong holiday message and something for all ages to enjoy. If you are looking for a new Christmas movie to watch then you may want to check this one out.
The Christmas Chronicles premieres tomorrow on Netflix. You can follow this movie on Facebook.
