Sausage Party is the worst animated movie I have ever seen
R rated movies are becoming a trend in Hollywood. This is in part thanks to the huge success of Deadpool earlier this year. R rated animated movies is not a brand new concept. Yet Sausage Party is the first CG animated film made for adults. It has a good concept and a amazing cast. I was able to see it earlier this week and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Sausage Party below:
Life is good for all the food items that occupy the shelves at the local supermarket. Frank (Seth Rogen) the sausage, Brenda (Kristen Wiig) the hot dog bun, Teresa Taco and Sammy Bagel Jr. (Edward Norton) can’t wait to go home with a happy customer. Soon, their world comes crashing down as poor Frank learns the horrifying truth that he will eventually become a meal. After warning his pals about their similar fate, the panicked perishables devise a plan to escape from their human enemies.
I really hated Sausage Party. This is a shame because it has a clever concept and a stellar cast. So what could have possibly gone wrong? Well for starters there is a ridiculous amount of swearing in this movie. I am not against the use of bad words in a film when they make sense. What bothered me was that after a while every other word was a curse word which was many times unnecessary and got old real fast. There is also a lot of racist jokes in Sausage Party. Not only were many of these jokes stereotypical but to me just weren’t funny at all. So many of the characters fit some racial image that is entirely outdated. I also didn’t like the drug references, they went too far and played too big of a role which hurts this film in my eyes. Yet the worst part for me had to be the ending. Without giving it away let’s just say things go too far very quickly and last longer than they ever should have. I am sure the writers thought this was hilarious but I just wasn’t amused by it one bit. Overall this is an awful adult animated film that is not worth seeing. Sausage Party deserves 1/10. This may seem harsh to some people but trust me it is justified. This film starts off okay but goes downhill from there. As it moves along the jokes only get worse and the villain was just weird. I am not sure how this film turned out so bad but I was honestly disgusted by what I saw. Once it was all over I was shocked and disappointed that something that could have been at least good ended up being a complete disaster. Nobody should see this film, especially not kids. I wish I could say something good about it but honestly I just can’t. This is a movie that never should have been released in theaters, it would have been a better idea to release it directly to video.
People who like these stars will be shocked by their awful performances in this film. Anyone who wants to see a good animated comedy will not be satisfied watching this movie. Sausage Party comes out this Friday. You can follow Sausage Party on Facebook and Twitter.

I heartily agree. I’m anything but easily offended, yet this abomination managed to leave me feeling equal parts grossed out and uncomfortable. I did laugh quite a lot throughout (to be honest), but it took things way too far… especially that grotesque ending. Giving an entirely new meaning to the term “food-porn”.
Yeah, one of the worst animated films I have ever seen in my life. Not sure what they were thinking but they screwed up big time with this film. Sadly they are already planning a sequel, wish they weren’t doing that
