The Good Men Project

See Red Get Angry in the First ‘Angry Birds’ Trailer

Birds 1 fix See how this popular game is landing on the big screen next year

Mobile games have become very popular in recent years. There is Fruit Ninja, Cut the Rope, Temple Run and yet none of these games are as popular as Angry Birds. There has been the original game, Angry Birds in Space and even Angry Birds Star Wars edition. The game can be played on cell phones, tablets and even computers. It seems that next year fans are finally going to get to see these birds in action.

The film takes place on a small island that is entirely populated by birds who are unable to fly, well at least most of them are this way. Here lives Red (Jason Sudeikis) a bird with a temper, Chuck (Josh Gad)  a yellow bird who is very hyper and Bomb (Danny McBride) who has a tendency to blow up sometimes literally. They  have always been outsiders, but one day when the island gets visited by strange green piggiess it is up to these three to figure out what these new visitors are up to.

This writer has to say that when he first heard of an Angry Birds movie that it sounded like it would be a terrible idea. After seeing this trailer for himself it has changed his mind. This writer is not prepared to say it will be a wonderful film but the trailer does give him some hope that it will at least be a fun film that fans will enjoy.

The cast is an odd choice but it looks like they will be the ones who will breath life into these zany characters as no one else could. This first trailer doesn’t delve into the plot much but does a good job of giving fans a taste of what is to come next year. With the film release still a good number of months away it is hard to pass judgement on this movie right now. But for now it looks like it has promise at least for the sake of the fans it better be good or they will be very unhappy. Not sure if it is a film to run out and see with your kids, that answer will come when the next trailer hits.

Angry Birds is coming to theaters May 20, 2016.
