An arduous journey begins in ‘Oblivion Rouge Vol 1’
I have been lucky to read a good amount of graphic novels lately. When they are done right they can tell some pretty amazing stories. When I heard about Oblivion Rouge Vol 1 I hoped I might get a chance to read it. I was able to get a digital copy of this graphic novel and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Oblivion Rouge Vol 1 here:
In the near future, a virus called the LEUP has infected half the population. The resulting war between the people of Liam, known as the infected, and the people of Galoum, known as the immune, becomes a bloody and brutal affair.
When a mysterious army called the Hakkinen emerges to quell the war between the two countries, they adopt children of war to aid them. Oumi and her friends are enlisted to help find a cure and end the bloodshed.
Oumi has made a promise to never suffer the losses and humiliation she has already seen in her young life. But with strange forces gathering against her continent, can she overcome her own insecurities to lead her people to paradise?
This was a fun graphic novel to read. It takes place in the near future when Africa faces a deadly threat. To combat this a group of teens are put through some difficult training. It is the hope though that some of them are able to find a way to stop this threat once and for all. As this graphic novel comes to a close it is clear this story is far from over.
Oblivion Rouge Vol 1 is out now. You can order this graphic novel on Amazon, at Barnes and Noble and Indiebound.
