Mera takes on a tough task for her people in ‘Tidebreaker’
I knew a bit about the Aquaman story before I saw the movie. He is a man born of two different worlds. This man has a destiny, one that will change both worlds forever. When I heard about Mera: Tidebreaker I hoped I would get to check it out. I was able to get a digital copy of this graphic novel and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot of Mera Tidebreaker here:
Princess Mera is teenage royalty and heir to the throne of Xebel, a penal colony ruled by the other no-so-lost land under the sea, Atlantis. Her father, his court and the entire kingdom are expecting her to marry and introduce a new king. But Mera is destined to wear a different crown….
When the Xebellian military plots to overthrow Atlantis and break free of its oppressive regime, Mera seizes the opportunity to take control over her own destiny by assassinating Arthur Curry–the long-lost prince and heir to the kingdom of Atlantis. But her mission gets sidetracked when Mera and Arthur unexpectedly fall in love. Will Arthur Curry be the king at Mera’s side, or will he die under her blade as she attempts to free her people from persecution?
Mera: Tidebreaker was a fascinating read. We get to learn about her people and the city she lives in. Things aren’t perfect there, and the reason has to do with Atlantis. Mera decides she has to do something to help her people out, so she chooses to take on a tough mission. It takes her to a new world, and it does fascinate her in some ways. Once she meets her target she thinks this will be easy, but as she gets to know them it looks like it will be harder than she thought. If you want to know more about Mera and her story then this is a graphic novel you should take a look at.
Mera: Tidebreaker is available now. You can order this graphic novel on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble.
