Hear a rather touching story get told in ‘Tall Girl’
I have been lucky to watch a number of movies on Netflix lately. Most of them are pretty dang good, although there have been a few bad ones too. When I saw the trailer for Tall Girl I was looking forward to watching it. I was able to get a screener of this movie and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Tall Girl here:
Jodi has always been the tallest girl in school — and she’s always been uncomfortable with it. After slouching her way through life for 16 years and being made fun of by classmates, Jodi meets Stig, a seemingly perfect Swedish foreign exchange student who’s even taller than she is. Jodi’s new crush turns her world upside down and throws her into a surprising love triangle, but with the help of her two best friends as well as her beauty queen sister Harper, Jodi comes to realize that she’s far more than her insecurities about her appearance have led her to believe.
I overall really liked Tall Girl. The ending wasn’t a huge shock, but it was fun to see the journey that led to that moment. As the story progressed a few surprising things happened. At its core though this film is about overcoming your insecurities, which is what Jodi finds a way to do. This was definitely one of the better Netflix movies I have seen in a good while. I can’t say this is a film everyone will enjoy, but I think most people will like it.
Tall Girl is available on Netflix now.
