‘Thank You for Your Service’ Shows another side of war
There are a lot of war films made each year. Most of them are gritty, bloody and show how hellish war can be. Yet once in a while the focus is shifted. Thank You for Your Service shows audiences a painful truth. I was able to watch this film early and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Thank You for Your Service here:
A movie that follows a group of U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq who struggle to integrate back into family and civilian life, while living with the memory of a war that threatens to destroy them long after they’ve left the battlefield.
Thank You for Your Service gets 6.5/10. It was not a bad movie, but it had some flaws. The story has its weak moments, and it isn’t always clear where it is going next. Miles Teller is pretty good, but this is not his best performance as of late. This movie does a good job revealing a harsh reality though. So many soldiers come back from war, and it is clear they don’t always get help as quickly as they should. The ending was pretty good, and did a fine job bringing this film to a close. I am not sure if this is a movie for everyone, but some people will enjoy it. To learn more about Thank You for Your Service click on this website.
