The Crooked Man is too predictable of a horror film in my opinion
I have seen a good amount of horror films. Most of them blend together, but once in a while something different comes along. The Crooked Man tries hard to fit into this group. I was able to get a review copy and here is what I thought of this movie.
You can read the plot for The Crooked Man here:
As a young girl, Olivia (Angelique Rivera) recited a haunting rhyme at a slumber party, which summoned the demonic figure known as the Crooked Man. Years later, she must team up with a reclusive mastermind (Michael Jai White) to defeat the demon before they die by his hands.
I had a few issues with The Crooked Man. For starters, some of the special effects looked cheap and made many scenes less terrifying then they should have been. Also once the killing began it was kind of obvious what was going to happen. The cast does the best they can with this film, but many times the plot lags. It didn’t help the film much when it slowed down either, sometimes made it hard to follow this film. Yet the concept was clever, nice to take this rhyme and giving it a chilling, modern twist. I also liked how the Crooked Man looked, he was creepy looking and how he killed every victim was a horrible sight to behold. Not the best horror film I have seen lately, yet not the worst either. Some people may really like this film, but it won’t be for everyone.
The Crooked Man comes out on DVD, Digital HD and On Demand today. You can follow this film on Facebook and Instagram.
