A spin-off of ‘Arrow’ that is fast becoming a huge success. Men will love the special effects and the reminder that “with great power comes great responsibility.”

As many of you can tell by my many reviews, I am a nerd. Just like the guys from ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ I love my Superheroes. I have seen ‘The Flash’ before on cartoons like ‘Young Justice,’ ‘Justice League and Justice League:Unlimited,’ but never in a live-action setting. When I heard they were doing this show, I was apprehensive about it. How are they going to do a stand alone TV show just about him and was it even a good idea? I saw a trailer, and it gave me hope, but a trailer doesn’t guarantee a good TV show any more than it means a movie will be worth seeing.
When the show finally aired, I have to say I was impressed. Not only does it have very good special effects, but the cast and the story line are perfect. Barry Allen is a man that many men can relate to, he is nervous, works a simple job and doesn’t have many friends. He has a secret love, but he is unable to admit to this person how he feels about her. One day he is struck by lightning in a serious accident, and goes into a coma for nine months. When he awakens, he finds out there is something different about him. Somehow this accident changed him. He can run faster than any other person and heals at an extraordinary rate. He decides to become a superhero to protect the people of Central City from the other meta humans who came into existence, thanks to a particle accelerator explosion.
When Barry Allen was a kid, some kind of odd yellow flash came into his house and killed his mom, and his dad was framed for the murder. He spent years trying to solve the murder and find out who really committed this terrible crime. He is sure his dad is innocent, but he has no evidence to prove it. Who killed his mom? Why did they commit this crime? With his new powers, will he be able to protect those he loves from harm?
Grant Gustin is the perfect choice for Barry Allen/ The Flash. He is a man who has a big heart, and has always wanted to help people. Once he gets his powers, he always makes sure to use them for good. He wishes he didn’t have to keep it a secret, but he knows why he must. Boys can learn a lot from him, not only that with great power comes great responsibility (had to throw that in there, couldn’t help myself). But also, that even if you don’t have powers you can still do good things. He brings such life to this character and depth of emotion that it is tough for me to see anyone else in this role.
Tom Cavanagh is wonderful as Dr. Harrison Wells. I have seen him show up many times before on TV shows and in a few movies, but never a show like this. It fits him well, a man who made a big mistake and is doing his best to correct it. He is a character that is not all that he seems. It is hard to tell, sometimes, if he is a good or bad guy. Watch this show and you will see what i mean.
Candice Patton plays Iris West. She is not only smart, but she is also a risk taker. She believes in The Flash and even starts a blog about him. She knows this could be dangerous, but it is worth it in her eyes to let the public knows this hero exists. She is one the important pieces of this show. Each week she not only makes it more interesting but finds a way to hold the episode together. Without her, they would not flow as well and there would definitely not be the love triangle factor.
It is not easy for Barry at first, he has to learn just what kind of powers he has and just how far are his limits. It takes a few episodes for him to find out the reason he keeps getting light headed is because he has a metabolism that burns faster, and therefore has to eat more often than he used to.Thanks to a team at S.T.A.R. labs headed by Dr. Harrison Wells, Cisco and Caitlin Snow who are helping him hone his powers and make sure that he doesn’t get hurt. Cisco even built his new suit for him, with a built in radio to help guide him with whatever dangers come his way.
This has fast become one of my favorite shows. I was hooked since I saw the pilot, and it continues to find new ways to get better each week. The show has amazing special effects, and the suit fits perfectly. They have also thrown in some awesome villains, but I will not spoil who here. Barry and his team at S.T.A.R labs work very well together. No matter what happens, they always find a way to be victorious, even when certain risks have to be made. The show has had some interesting twists so far, and the way it builds on character development is something you don’t see in many show lately on TV. There is a good amount of mystery going on so far, not just with some of the characters but in other ways too. If you want to find out what I mean, you must watch this show.
If you are a fan of The Arrow, you must watch this wonderful spin-off. If you like superheroes, this is a program you must check out. It is TV show that is different from other show out there right now,and that is always nice to see. Watch this show on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. on the CW.

Hmm that is cool, I was unaware of that. I am eager to see where this show goes next. I also heard Mark Hamill was going to return to play the trickster again
The actor who plays the dad also played the flash in the 1990 live action tv series.
