‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ Was an Alright Action Flick

‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ Better than I expected it to be

I get to see a fair share of action films each year. When I saw the trailers for The Hitman’s Bodyguard, I had fears it was going to be terrible. It surprised me in a few ways. I was able to see it early and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for The Hitman’s bodyguard here:

The world’s top protection agent (Ryan Reynolds) is called upon to guard the life of his mortal enemy (Samuel L. Jackson), one of the world’s most notorious hit men. The relentless bodyguard and manipulative assassin have been on the opposite end of the bullet for years and are thrown together for a wildly outrageous 24 hours. During their journey from England to the Hague, they encounter high-speed car chases, outlandish boat escapades and a merciless Eastern European dictator (Gary Oldman) who is out for blood.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard was an okay action film. This film has everything that audiences expect to see in this type of movie, including tons of cursing. Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson were not a bad match. They do play off each other rather well at times. I didn’t laugh once though, so I can’t see why they are pushing this movie off as a comedy. The jokes are juvenile at best, and fell flat for me every time. To learn more about The Hitman’s Bodyguard click on this website.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard gets 6/10. I ended up liking it more than I expected to, but it wasn’t a perfect film. I see it as only an action film, and not as a comedy as the trailers act like it is. There are lots of explosions, a couple good fight scenes, a ton of violence and lots of cussing. Some people will really like this film, but it will not be for everyone.
