A spin off of the well known books that takes fans back in time long before the boy who lived was born
Harry Potter is a very popular franchise. There is Pottermore online which has all kinds of things that take fans inside this magical world. There is also The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Florida and it is coming soon to the Universal Studios in Los Angeles. There is even in the works a new two part play called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which will be a play in some parts of England and London and plans on continuing the story of the boy who lived. But this new film coming out next year is not about this famous wizard and his friends. It takes place in a different time and focuses on another man who once the tale is over everyone will know his name. The first teaser is online and here is what we know from it.
The film takes place in New York in 1926 and focuses on a man named Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) . An unknown official who works for the Magical Congress of the United States of America which works to keep strong the ties between magical and No-Maj people has to deliver some terrible news to the people of this governing body. A wizard came to this country with a case that housed a number of powerful creatures and somehow a couple of them have escaped. They have tasked Newt with finding these creatures before they can cause any kind of harm to the inhabitants of this city. Who was the person who owned this case? How did the creatures get loose? And to what extremes will Newt have to go to get them all back?
This teaser is brief but there are a few key things here to look out for. It is great to see Eddie playing Newt, he is an up and coming actor and this writer thinks he is the perfect person to play this character. It is great how the trailer begins with a spell many fans will recognize and how it starts the whole thing off on a mysterious note. My favorite part had to be when Newt notices that the case did not break open but instead someone that someone opened it. It adds some humor to the whole trailer and also gives people a vague idea of the creatures by the noises you hear coming from this seemingly small case. It is a good teaser and is sure to appease fans and at the same time have them eager to see more.
