Take a Trip to the Past in ‘Disenchantment’ Season 1

Take a journey to the Dark Ages in ‘Disenchantment’ season 1

I am a huge Matt Groening fan. Although I haven’t watched The Simpsons in years, I really liked Futurama. When I heard about Disenchantment I was very excited about it. This show takes viewers into the past where three unlikely friends go on all kinds of adventures together. I was able to watch most of season 1 and this is what I thought about it.

You can read the plot for Disenchantment season 1 here:

In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.

I was very pleased with Disenchantment season 1. This show follows three unlikely friends who get to go on all kinds of adventures together in this magical land. They are all imperfect in some way, and that is what makes them so likable. You never know where they are going to go or what they are going to face next, but it was a real joy to watch each story unfold. The medieval humor poked fun at Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings and also plenty of jabs at the time period itself. It is different, but that is one of the things that makes it so great.
