‘Victoria and Abdul’ Tells a breath taking, touching story
I see a lot of films based on true stories recently. Yet it has been a good while since I have seen something like Victoria and Abdul. I knew very little about it going in. Yet I do have to say it looked rather intriguing. I was able to see this film early and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Victoria and Abdul here:
When Abdul Karim (Ali Fazal), a young clerk, travels from India to participate in the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, he is surprised to find favor with the Queen herself. As the Queen questions the constrictions of her long-held position, the two forge an unlikely and devoted alliance with a loyalty to one another that her household and inner circle all attempt to destroy.
As the friendship deepens, the Queen begins to see a changing world through new eyes and joyfully reclaims her humanity.
I was pleasantly surprised by Victoria and Abdul. The story it tells is an astounding one. These two people from different worlds created a friendship that changed both of their lives forever. This movie has plenty of drama, some funny comedy and a few surprises as the tale unfolds. The ending was a bit of a shock to me, but made sense honestly. If you are looking for an all around great film, then this is one you will want to see. To learn more about Victoria and Abdul click on this website.
