Fabio is on the case in ‘The Case of the Missing Hippo’

I have been lucky to read a good amount of children’s books lately. It isn’t always obvious at first where the next story will take me. When I heard about The Case of the Missing Hippo I thought it sounded like it could be a fun read. I was able to get a digital copy of this book and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for The Case of the Missing Hippo here:

In a small town on the banks of Lake Laloozee lives the world’s greatest flamingo detective. His name is Fabio. He’s not tall or strong, but slight and pink. And he’s very, very clever.

When Fabio and his giraffe associate Gilbert drop in to the Hotel Royale for a relaxing glass of lemonade (pink, naturally), Fabio is persuaded to judge the hotel’s talent contest. But when the most promising contestant–Julia the jazz-singing hippopotamus–goes missing, Fabio must put his thinking cap back on and solve the mystery!

I had a lot of fun reading The Case of the Missing Hippo. The characters were quite likable, and it was enjoyable to watch this mystery move forward. There were plenty of suspects, but that didn’t mean it was easy to find the culprit. When it was revealed who was behind it all, it was rather surprising. I can see most readers have a blast reading this book.

The Case of the Missing Hippo comes out tomorrow. You can pre-order this book on Amazon, at Barnes and Noble and Indiebound.
