A simple game ends up being quite deadly in ‘Ready or Not’
Thrillers can be good if they are done right. I have seen some really good ones in the last few years. Sadly most of them end up just being bad. When I heard about Ready or Not I hoped it would be good. I was able to see it early and this is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Ready or Not here:
Follow a young bride (Samara Weaving) as she joins her new husband’s (Mark O’Brien) rich, eccentric family (Adam Brody, Henry Czerny, Andie MacDowell) in a time-honored tradition that turns into a lethal game with everyone fighting for their survival.
Ready or Not gets 5/10. This film had a concept you don’t see everyday, one that didn’t get off the ground like I hoped it would. Most of the time this film seemed to refuse to take itself that seriously, which hurt it in the long run. There were plenty of times it tried to be funny, but I thought these scenes were just ridiculous. There were a few good moments, and I thought the ending was a bit surprising. I can see some people liking this movie, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
Ready or Not is out now. You can follow this movie on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
