Corey & Topanga’s ‘Boy Meets World’ reimagined for a new generation.

Were you a fan of Boy Meets World and curious what is new with those lovable characters, Corey and Topanga? Well this show gives you a glimpse of what life has brought for them. Girl Meets World debuted on the Disney Channel on June 27, and so far 7 episodes have aired. Girl Meets World started off a bit slow, but as the show progressed it has become a wonderful TV show for families to watch together.

Girl Meets World follows Riley Matthews and her best friend Maya Hart as they go through the challenges of life as they enter the 7th grade. The show also features Lucas Friar, a potential love interest for Riley, and Farkle, a nerdy boy who is odd but does have his heartfelt moments. Cory is now a history teacher at John Quincy Adams Middle School, the school that Riley attends, and Topanga is a lawyer. The series takes place at their home in New York.

I was a big fan of the show Boy Meets World, but I didn’t really get into it until the cast went off to middle school. Before that it was not that exciting to me. Watching each week the trials that Corey, Shawn and Topanga would go through was exciting, and each episode was full of important life lessons. Some of these were to always be there for your friends, family is very important, and how an education could help you reach your goals. When I heard there was going to be a spin-off of this show, at first I was apprehensive. After seeing the first two episodes of Girl Meets World, I wasn’t sure if this show was going to make it. They were good episodes, but they didn’t have the charm that Boy Meets World had. But once I saw the newer episodes, my hopes for Girl Meets World escalated. I can safely say that this is a great show that I think will be around for a good while.

Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel work very well together. They are a great team, and it is hard to imagine this show without them on it. No matter what happens in this world, they will do all they can to help their daughter and her friends get through it. Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter also are a good match for the show. When something goes wrong for either Riley or Maya, their best friend will be there to help them not only learn but grow from it too. I also like Corey Fogelmanis as Farkle, he is a silly character but he brings a lot of laughs to this show, and he has great scenes that really show you his skills as an actor.

Girl Meets World has a good following so far, and has already been renewed for a second season. If you were a fan of Boy Meets World, you should watch this show. It is clever, unique and fun to watch each week. Check out Girl Meets World on Friday nights on the Disney Channel.
