What would the average man on the street when asked “Where did you learn about sex?” or “Do you think porn has changed men’s relationship to sex?”
Elana Millman took to the streets to interview real guys to find out what they really think about sex in our society.
Do you agree? Disagree?
What would you tell Elana if she stopped you?
Elena- I guess that would depend on what you asked me….

Thanks so much for posted this J.A. Drew. Interesting stuff.
I’ve always been a big fan of the pranks the Samoans pulled on Margaret Meade, so I would lie outlandishly…
and what would you say, I dare to ask?
Cant imagine a man stopping random women on the street and interviewing them about their sexuality.
It was an interesting day to say the least. Most men were quite candid and honest. it was inspiring.
You’re not really going to get completely honest answers in this format.
As mentioned in another article, the internet is forever (or as good as). I’d be very careful if some stranger with a camera asked me questions about sex and porn. What happens to that piece of film after that interview? I don’t want any of my quotes about sex and porn to become a meme.
I would always advise a person to be careful what they say online or on video. That being said, I’d still talk about it (obviously).
Even with tenure, I’d still worry about it coming back to bite me.
Oh for sure. That’s why I don’t have a respectable job! 😉
it was inspiring to talk to men so candidly. I think it helped that I had a male camera man.
All participants agreed to being filmed and knew the subject matter before so as not to throw them a loop. I tried to be respectable while getting some on-the-street insights.
