Ihor shared his views on entrepreneurship and gave advice to timid beginners.
To make your dreams come true, let your childhood hobbies evolve into a business. We tend to forget them over time, but these childhood interests can actually become a great source of income.
How to choose a business area? You’ll hear a lot of advice on this topic coming from all sides. I, for example, had to invest the last bit of money I had left after moving to the USA in my future occupation. When considering possible directions, it’s important to pay attention to several important points. First, assess your location, surroundings, and needs. Opening a beach accessories store in Alaska is a fun idea, for example, but a very risky one.
Upon arriving in Miami, I noticed that people came here to relax and enjoy themselves, so if I were to offer stuff to them, it would have to be extraordinary.
Your business should be your life’s work. Think about the things you really like, what you could do for a living with pleasure, what could motivate you to work as many hours as needed without longing for the weekend. For me, it’s cars — my hobby since childhood, so it wasn’t that difficult to make a choice. Hence I decided to go into the auto business.
Which car models to offer? I had to look around. Since it’s Miami, you need to offer something extra special and gorgeous. People come here to relax. And the showbiz industry works here, too, shooting movies and commercials. So, the concept was clear: sports cars, supercars, convertibles.
Be trendy. If you love your job, you must be interested in it. And if you are, the trends come to you with the understanding of your consumers’ ideas and needs.
Social media can help you develop a personal brand. There, you’re surrounded by like-minded people, and it’s easier for you to establish trust and draw attention to your goods or services. Whatever you choose as a business, remember that your customers are always by your side. Therefore, pages on Instagram, Facebook, and Tik-Tok, as well as a Telegram channel, should be up and running, filled with engaging content.
Car model and brand reviews, prices, services, operation, expert advice, and feedback are the major things that attract the auto business’s target audience. Also, communication is essential, since you’re among similar enthusiasts. For example, I posted at gosamyza:“…I want to ride a Lamborghini Urus. What about you?” The audience reacted with likes and comments, and more people found my profile, becoming followers or even customers.
You don’t have to do it all alone. There are rarely such universal people (if any). Don’t tackle everything at once, especially given that you’ll have a ton of work: management, logistics, sales, legal affairs. I’ll put it another way — you can’t do it alone. Everyone needs a team of professionals who are responsible for individual functions.
Learn constantly. Remember that, in addition to professional competence (hard skills), you will need the so-called soft skills: communication, motivational development, self-presentation, and skill showcase. This will help you make clear points and increase the efficiency of your work, whether you’re talking to a manager or an employee.
Also, a specialist’s expertise costs money. So, it’s important to pay them well or get paid for the work done if you’re an expert.
